18.09.2026. 11:23

Given that the EUPA4BiH project focuses on strengthening the capacities of police and judicial agencies and institutions, the meeting addressed past and future activities as well as mutual cooperation. Cooperation to date has included, among other things, initiatives related to the Strategic Forum of Chief Prosecutors and Police Directors, as well as a series of joint training sessions in various fields—including counter-terrorism, tracking financial flows in financial crime cases, combating cybercrime, and special investigative measures.

Chief Prosecutor Kajganić emphasized that cooperation within the project framework is significant because of exchange of experiences and best practices from EU colleagues regarding cases involving evidence from encrypted applications such as SKY and ANOM, as well as for coordination and cooperation in activities to be conducted with Eurojust.

Discussions focused on operational priorities for the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH where the EUPA4BiH project could concentrate its efforts. These priorities include cooperation with Eurojust (specifically current status and next steps), international cooperation and challenges regarding MLA requests, and training for police agencies and prosecutors—with an emphasis on sharing best and worst practices from EU countries—as well as strengthening the capacity of the analytical unit within the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.
As part of the project, activities will be planned and implemented in the coming period that are significant for the specialization of representatives from police agencies and prosecutor’s offices in specific areas where EU colleagues possess extensive experience.
