01.04.2026. 11:18The parties discussed the work of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and the Trafficking and Smuggling in Persons Section, as well as the cooperation of this section with international partners and institutions in the fight against this type of crime and the criminal prosecution of persons accused of these crimes.

The Chief Prosecutor emphasized that the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH participates in a number of international activities in the fight against human trafficking and illegal migration, as well as in joint investigative teams formed by EUROJUST involving several countries aimed at detecting and prosecuting the perpetrators of these crimes.
The visitors from the OSCE were informed about the work of the Task Force Combating Human Trafficking and Organized Illegal Immigration, chaired by the Chief Prosecutor, which gathers all institutions and agencies working in this area, because Bosnia and Herzegovina, due to its geographical position, is exposed to illegal migration flows and criminal offenses related to these phenomena.
The parties concluded that institutional cooperation between the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and the OSCE Mission to BiH in this area will continue in the future through joint projects and activities.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
