INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR ORGANIZED CRIME AND INTERNATIONAL ENTICING TO PROSTITUTION

These accused persons are charged with recruiting, together with several other persons, a large number of women and girls from Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia for prostitution in Germany and Austria, during 2014 and 2015.
The indictment alleges that these accused persons took advantage of the difficult financial situation and position of the victims and they took them to Germany and Austria, where they advertised the provision of sexual services on their behalf, via internet platforms and in other ways, and the injured parties had to give them most of the money thus earned or send it to the accused via a money transfer system, on several occasions, most often in amounts ranging from several hundred to several thousand BAM, in which way the first accused gained unlawful material gain in the amount of at least BAM 87,353.24, and the other members of the group also gained unlawful material gain.
These accused persons are charged with having committed the criminal offense of Organized Crime under Article 250 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in conjunction with the criminal offense of International Enticing to Prostitution under Article 187 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
