INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY IN KLJUČ AREA

2. Dragan Vukić* aka ‘Rosin’, born in 1970 in Banja Luka, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina
3. Ranko Samardžija*, born in 1960 in Ključ, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina
4. Savo Jokić*, born in 1962 in Drvar, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina
5. Mišo Adamović*, born in 1971 in Ključ, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina
6. Milorad Kaurin* aka ‘Karlo’, born in 1969 in Ključ, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Serbia
These accused persons are charged as direct perpetrators of the crimes committed on 10 July 1992, when during a military and police action by the Republika Srpska Army in the villages of Gornji Biljani and Donji Biljani, in the municipality of Ključ, civilian men of Bosniak ethnicity were taken into unlawful detention in a school building in Donji Biljani. After that, on several occasions, these accused persons, together or individually, used weapons and forcibly took the prisoners, individually or in smaller groups, to locations near the school where they personally participated in the murders of the civilians, whose bodies were taken from the said location and found and exhumed after the war.
These accused persons are charged with having deprived the lives of several dozen civilians and having committed inhumane acts against the illegally detained civilians, thereby persecuting the civilian population and committing the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity under Article 172 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
