WEEKLY OVERVIEW OF MOST IMPORTANT ACTIVITIES FOR 15 – 19 DECEMBER 2025

 An overview of the most important activities for the week from 15 December through to 19 December 2025. 

EXHUMATION COMPLETED IN MOSTAR
At the Šarić Harem site in Mostar, an exhumation was carried out, during the course of which the remains of one person were found and will be forwarded to the premises of the City Cemetery Sutina for further forensic processing and identification through DNA analysis. The exhumation was supervised by an investigator of the Special Department for War Crimes pursuant to the instruction of the Prosecutor.  The forensic pathologist, representatives of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons (BIMP), the State Investigation and Protection Agency-SIPA, as well as the International Commission on Missing Persons (ICMP) participated in the process, and the location was secured by police officers of the HNC Ministry of Interior.

INDICTMENT ISSUED AGAINST DANIELA WENDLER FOR CRIMINAL OFFENCES OF SMUGGLING VALUABLES AND COUNTERFEITING OF MONEY


The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH issued an indictment against Daniela Wendler*, aka "Dani", born in 1969 in Gelsenkirchen, a citizen of the Federal Republic of Germany, who is in custody. She is charged with having, during 2025, evaded customs control measures and transferred 26 gold bars worth EUR 593,207.94 purchased in the Federal Republic of Germany across the state border into BiH. She is also charged with having kept various denominations of the Euro currency in her house in the municipality of Ravno, in the total amount of EUR 2,370.00, which she knew to be counterfeit, but failed to report. During a search of the house, carried out by police officers of the Ministry of the Interior of the Herzegovina - Neretva Canton, the items were found and temporarily seized. The accused is charged with committing the criminal offense of Smuggling of Goods under Article 214, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of BiH and the criminal offense of Counterfeiting of Money under Article 205, paragraph 4, all in conjunction with Article 53 of the same Code.


INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR THE CRIMINAL OFFENCE OF HUMAN SMUGGLING

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH issued an indictment against Mirela Hamzić*, born in 1985 in Hadžići, a citizen of BiH. She is charged with having received six migrants who had illegally entered BiH on 3 July 2023, in the immediate vicinity of the state border with the Republic of Montenegro, with the intention of transporting them to the Sarajevo area, but was detected and prevented by the Čajniče Police Station, in the town of Miljeno. The accused is charged with having, with the intention of obtaining illegal property gain, facilitated illegal transportation and stay of smuggled persons in BiH, thereby committing the criminal offense of Smuggling of Persons under Article 189, Paragraph 2, in conjunction with Article 26 of the Criminal Code of BiH.
