INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY IN FOČA AREA

The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued an indictment against Mićo Olović*, born in 1957 in Rogatica, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The accused is charged with having acted contrary to the provisions of the Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War, in his capacity as a member and commander of the police forces of Republika Srpska and as a superior to all active and reserve police officers of the Miljevina police station. 
  • INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY IN FOČA AREA

He is charged with having participated, in the period from the beginning of May to mid-August 1992, within the widespread and systematic attack against Bosniaks in the Foča area, knowing of such an attack and that his actions constituted a part of that attack. He participated in the persecution of the Bosniak civilians on ethnic and religious grounds, by both issuing orders to police officers, as well as personally participating in certain deprivations of liberty, taking away and unlawfully imprisoning civilians in the police station in Miljevina as well as in other serious deprivations of physical liberty contrary to the fundamental rules of international law. He is charged with participation in inhumane acts intended to cause great suffering to civilians, killings and the enforced disappearance of more than thirty persons, who have since been listed as missing. He is accused of committing the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity under Article 172, paragraph 1, item h), in conjunction with the same article, item e), and item i), and in conjunction with Article 180, paragraph 1, of the Criminal Code of BiH.
