CHIEF PROSECUTOR OF THE BIH PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE AND ASSOCIATES AT THE REGIONAL CONFERENCE ON WAR CRIMES PROSECUTION
03.09.2025. 16:00Joint activities and the provision of mutual legal assistance are being agreed upon at the meeting, with the aim of fighting impunity for war crimes. During the conference, issues, challenges and progress in regional cooperation will be discussed, as well as activities to solve the issue of unavailability of suspects and accused of war crimes. The Chief Prosecutor of the IRMCT Serge Brammertz, as well as officials of the European Commission and UNDP, are also participating in the conference.
Also, as part of the regional conference, the Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milanko Kajganić, met with the State Attorney General of the Republic of Croatia, Ivan Turudić, with whom he discussed strengthening cooperation in war crimes cases, as well as joint cooperation in the prosecution of cases of organized crime and corruption, in which there is a cross-border connection between the perpetrators and the crimes committed.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
