INDICTMENT FILED AGAINST TWO PERSONS FOR CRIMINAL OFFENCE OF CORRUPTION
The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina filed an indictment against Igor Predojević* aka ‘Gigo’ born in 1974 and Danijel Bjelajac* born in 1984.
The charges against them are that they, as employees and authorised officers in the Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA) of BiH, and as members of the ITA’s Group for Prevention of Smuggling and Offences, acted contrary to legal provisions and established procedures in the performance of their official actions, and by taking advantage of official powers, seriously violated the rights of persons controlled by the ITA, entered false information into official documents and failed to enter important information, and then used false official documents in service.
They are accused of committing the criminal offences of Abuse of office or official authority set out in Article 220 (1) and Forging official documents set out in Article 226 (1) and (2) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
