INDICTMENT ISSUED AGAINST MIRZET ISAKOVIĆ * FOR THE CRIMINAL OFFENSE OF ILLICIT TRAFFICKING IN ARMS AND MILITARY EQUIPMENT AND PRODUCTS OF DUAL USE UNDER ARTICLE 193 OF THE BIH CRIMINAL CODE
The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued an indictment against Mirzet Isaković aka Dado, born in 1988 in Bihać, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, due to the existence of a grounded suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of Illicit Trafficking in Arms and Military Equipment and Products of Dual Use, as referred to in Article 193, paragraph 3, as read with paragraph 1, in concurrence with the criminal offense of Illicit Trafficking in Arms and Military Equipment and Products of Dual Use, referred to in Article 193, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, all in conjunction with Article 53 of the same Code.
INDICTMENT ISSUED AGAINST DERVIŠ MEHINOVIĆ* FOR THE CRIMINAL OFFENSE OF WAR CRIME AGAINST THE CIVILIAN POPULATION UNDER ARTICLE 142 OF THE SFRY CRIMINAL CODE
The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued an indictment against Derviš Mehinović, born in 1956 in Seona, Banovići municipality, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He is accused to have committed the criminal offense of War Crime against the Civilian Population, referred to in Article 142, paragraph 1, in conjunction with Article 22 of the Criminal Code of the SFRY, in the period from the beginning of May to the beginning of August 1993, as a co-perpetrator and in his capacity as the commander of the 119th Banovići Muslim Mountain Brigade.
PROHIBITING MEASURES PROPOSED FOR SUSPECTS KASIM HAMIDOVIĆ* AND MASIM MUJKIĆ*
The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has put forward a motion with the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina to order prohibiting measures for the suspects Kasim Hamidović, born in 2001 in Cologne, Germany, residing in Bihać, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Masim Mujkić, born in 2004 in Cologne, Germany, residing in Bihać, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Prohibiting measures have been proposed for the reasons as stipulated in Article 126, paragraphs 1 and 2 and Article 126a, paragraph 1, item c) of the Criminal Procedure Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The said suspects are accused of having committed the criminal offense of Organized International Human Trafficking, referred to in Article 186a, paragraphs 1 and 2, the criminal offense of International Human Trafficking, referred to in Article 186, paragraphs 1 and 2, as well as the criminal offense of Money Laundering, referred to in Article 209, paragraphs 1 and 2 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
ACTIVITIES OF THE JOINT INVESTIGATION TEAM (JIT) OF THE BIH PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE AND THE SPECIALIZED STATE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF SLOVENIA CARRIED OUT
The Joint Investigation Team (JIT) within the EUROJUST association was formed by an agreement signed last November. The activities that were carried out relate to searches and seizure of items at eight locations in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the areas of Banja Luka and Kostajnica, as well as the seizure of evidence and blocking of funds.
This case was handled by SIPA police officers, with the assistance of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Interior, and it pertains to several persons suspected of the commission of the criminal offenses of Organized Crime under Article 250 and Money Laundering under Article 209 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as other criminal offenses.
Along with the activities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, there have also been activities in the territory of Slovenia, which were carried out by the prosecutor’s office and police agencies of the Republic of Slovenia.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
