ACTIVITIES CARRIED OUT IN ORGANISED CRIME CASE

By order of
the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, in the case being conducted in coordination
with EUROJUST and the respective Prosecutor’s Offices of France, Slovenia and
Spain, activities were carried out by police officers of the Border Police of
BiH with the assistance of members of SIPA, as well as earlier activities carried
out by the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs. Searches and deprivations of
liberty were carried out in the area of Banja Luka, Prnjavor and Gradiška.
A total of three suspects from the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina are under investigation for criminal offences of Organised crime under Article 250 and Illicit trafficking in arms, military equipment and products of dual use under Article 193 of the Criminal Code of BiH.
The criminal offences relate to the smuggling of large quantities of weapons, automatic rifles, hand grenades and ammunition, which were collected on the illegal market in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the intention of smuggling them to the territory of France.
