CHIEF PROSECUTOR MET BIH MINISTER OF JUSTICE
22.01.2025. 16:02At the meeting, they discussed current issues in the field of justice, and the activities undertaken by both institutions concerning the European integration of BiH.
The Chief Prosecutor informed the participants of the meeting about the activities and initiatives carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH in the previous year and about the planned activities in the future, with a special focus on cooperation with the Ministry of Justice of BiH, regarding the adoption of the Law on the Protection of Personal Data, as well as the adjustments of a certain number of laws to those of the European Union.
The Chief Prosecutor pointed out that the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina will remain committed to prosecuting cases of high corruption and high-level organized crime, and the Ministry of Justice of Bosnia and Herzegovina has expressed its support in these activities, stressing that these are important steps for European integration.
Minister Bunoza pointed out that the Ministry of Justice of BiH has forwarded several laws in accordance with its competences, which relate to the harmonization of the legislative framework of BiH with the EU legislative framework.
The Prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH contributed in these activities through participation in working groups and will continue to do so in 2025.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
