05.11.2024. 12:15
The agreement was signed by Chief Prosecutors Milanko Kajganić and Milorad Marković.
The signed agreement will allow for faster and more efficient cooperation in war crimes cases, as well as the organisation of testimony and participation in proceedings for witnesses, victims and injured parties in war crimes cases prosecuted in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Montenegro, and in which witnesses and injured parties residing and living in another country take part.
The Chief Prosecutors jointly welcomed the decision of the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg on the legality and admissibility of evidence obtained from encrypted applications as an important step in the fight against organised international crime in the countries of the region and strengthening the rule of law in BiH and Montenegro.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
