CUSTODY MOTION FOR THREE PERSONS IN THE CASE OF CODENAMED “SPARTACUS”

The custody was proposed for the reasons described in Article 132 (1) (b) and (c) of the Criminal Procedure Code of BiH, that is, due to the risk that the suspects could hinder the investigation, conceal evidence and influence witnesses or accomplices, as well as repeat the criminal offence or complete the attempted one.
The suspects are under investigation for organised crime, related to the smuggling of large quantities of narcotic drugs, money laundering and other criminal offences.
The case covers an organised criminal group that has been operating in BiH for a long time. This is the case in which international cooperation has been achieved with partner institutions and agencies from Belgium and the EU, and in which information obtained by decrypting Sky and Anom applications is also being used.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
