INDICTMENT FILED FOR THE CRIMINAL OFFENCE OF SMUGGLING

The charges against the defendants are that on 6 February 2023 they, when entering the customs area of BiH at the Border Crossing Point GP Karakaj from the direction of the Republic of Serbia, in the boot of their vehicle smuggled through the customs line a large amount of boxes of drugs and medicines for the import of which they did not have required approvals or documents, and the said medicines do not have a permit for import, which is issued by the Agency for Medicines and Medical Devices of BiH.
The mentioned drugs and medicines were found by authorised officers during control.
The defendants are charged with the criminal offence of smuggling set out in Article 214 (2), in cojunction with Article 29 of the Criminal Code of BiH.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation, which confirmed it.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
