INDICTMENT FILED FOR SMUGGLING A LARGE QUANTITY OF MOBILE PHONES

- Željko Ljubojević, born in 1979 in Brčko, citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The charges against the defendant are that he failed to declare that he was transporting in his car a total of 31 mobile phones in their original packaging, whose total estimated value is about BAM 21,000, and thus avoided the payment of customs duties in the amount of BAM 3920.96.
The above-mentioned goods were found and seized during the vehicle search carried out by authorised officers.
The defendant is charged with evading customs control measures and trying to transfer goods of higher value across the customs line, thereby committing the criminal offence of Smuggling in violation of Article 214 (1) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
