INDICTMENT FILED FOR THE CRIMINAL OFFENCE OF PROVOKING ETHNIC, RACIAL AND RELIGIOUS HATRED, DISCORD AND INTOLERANCE

30.01.2024. 13:29
A prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, after conducting an investigation, filed an indictment against:
  • INDICTMENT FILED FOR THE CRIMINAL OFFENCE OF PROVOKING ETHNIC, RACIAL AND RELIGIOUS HATRED, DISCORD AND INTOLERANCE

-         Vojin Pavlović, born in 1976 in Bratunac, citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The allegations against the defendant are that he, on 10 March 2023, in Bratunac, knowingly glorified a person who was convicted of the crime of genocide by the final judgment of the International Tribunal for the Prosecution of Persons Responsible for Serious Violations of International Humanitarian Law Committed in the Territory of the Former Yugoslavia since 1991, which he did in such a way that he as the president of the board of directors of the Association “East Alternative” of Republika Srpska, as well as a resident of Bratunac, put up a banner with a picture and a written message glorifying and supporting the person convicted of war crimes.

In the above-mentioned way, the defendant caused anxiety and fear among the majority of residents in the area who saw the banner placed in the centre of the city, and especially among the returnee population who suffered heavy sufferings in the past war.

The defendant is charged with having committed the criminal offence of Provoking ethnic, racial and religious hatred, discord and intolerance in violation of Article 145a (6) of the Criminal Code of BiH.

The indictment was forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation, which confirmed it.
