INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR CRIMINAL OFFENSE OF TERRORISM

- Mirza Kapić, born in 1980 in Banja Luka, living in Zenica, citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, currently in custody.
The accused is charged with having, in the middle of 2023, arranged and planned an attack on the "Bosnia" mosque in Zenica - the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina together with persons known to him, using internet applications via mobile phone and with the aim of seriously intimidating the population and destabilizing society,
According to the evidence gathered, the plan of attack was to use an explosive device made of TNT and mercury explosives, with the aim of punishing scholars and members of the Islamic community in BiH issuing fatwas against the so-called terrorist organization. "ISIS", as well as punishing members of the IC of BiH who report members of extremist organizations to law enforcement agencies in BiH.
The accused is charged with taking actions to commit the criminal offense of Terrorism and threatening to commit the criminal offense of Terrorism, thereby committing the criminal offense of Terrorism under Article 201, paragraph 1, in conjunction with paragraph 4 and paragraph 5, item i) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
