INDICTMENT FILED FOR FALSE STATEMENT

The charges against the defendant are that he, as a witness in a war crimes case who was granted protective measures, gave a false statement at the trial in the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the promised material benefit.
The indictment states that the defendant, after being promised material benefit, received instructions from a certain person on how to testify in the case in which he was injured, which he did.
The defendant is accused of having given a false statement as a witness in a criminal proceeding before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, thereby committing a criminal offence of Giving a false statement in violation of Article 235 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
