INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR ILLICIT TRADE IN EXCISE PRODUCTS
26.05.2022. 13:58This accused person is charged with illegally obtaining and attempting to place on the market a larger quantity of excise goods - tobacco, which was not marked with control and tax stamps in the manner prescribed by the tax legislation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to the allegations in the Indictment, on October 13 last year, the accused transported 260 kilograms of cut tobacco that has high value on the illegal market, which was packed in PVC bags and for which he did not have the necessary documentation. He transported the tobacco in a motor vehicle, intending to resell it further in the area of the Municipality of Tuzla, but he was caught during the police control on the main road from Jablanica to Sarajevo and thus he was prevented from doing so by police officers of the Hadžići Police Station and by authorized officials of the Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA) of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The accused is charged with the commission of the criminal offense of Illicit Trade in Excise Products under Article 210a, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in conjunction with Article 26 of the same Code.
The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
