  • DUTY PROSECUTOR ORDERS SEIZURE OF LARGER QUANTITY OF CIGARETTES WITHOUT EXCISE STAMPS OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA

The duty Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina has been informed that the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina deprived one suspect of liberty in the Zvornik area, who was transporting a larger quantity of cigarettes in his vehicle, without the appropriate excise stamps prescribed by the tax legislation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

After detecting the suspect, who is a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the duty Prosecutor coordinated the activities of the Border Police and the Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA) of Bosnia and Herzegovina in documenting this criminal offense.

Against this person suspected of the criminal offense of Illicit Trade in Excise Products, police agencies will submit a report on the committed criminal offense to the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, together with its partner police agencies, is conducting activities in documenting and prosecuting criminal offenses of illicit trade in large quantities of excise products which, according to the analyses of the Indirect Taxation Authority of Bosnia and Herzegovina, cause great damage to the budget and the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
