PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH RECEIVES EXPERT REPORT IN “RESPIRATORS” CASE
11.05.2020. 15:46The expert report shows that the procured ventilators do not have even the minimum necessary essential characteristics for adequate treatment of patients in intensive care units, which include Covid 19 patients.
Therefore, the use of these ventilators in intensive care units is not recommended.
Since the beginning of work on this case on 5 April this year, when the Prosecutor’s Office took over the case, the team of prosecutors of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH has taken a whole series of necessary actions to establish all the circumstances of this procurement and continues to work intensively on a daily basis.
Through the International Legal Assistance, all necessary data and information on the procurement in question have been and are being obtained, expert analyses are being carried out and documents are being examined, and the prosecutorial team is in daily and constant contact with the police and security agencies with which it is working on the case.
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH will inform the public in a timely and accurate manner about the implemented activities.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
