Chief Prosecutor Goran Salihović and officials of the Special Department for War Crimes within the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina met with the Chief Prosecutor of the Mechanism for International Criminal Tribunals (MICT), Mr. Hassan Jallow. 

At the meeting, the participants discussed the issue of mutual cooperation between the two respective Prosecutor’s Offices in fighting impunity of war crimes, as well as the issue of joint efforts invested into bringing war crimes perpetrators to justice and prosecuting them.  

The Chief Prosecutor informed Mr. Jallow about the activities and results of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the past period and its plans for achieving the best possible results with respect to war crimes prosecution in 2015.

Prosecutor Jallow expressed his continuing support to the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and he commended it’s efforts in prosecuting war crimes cases as efficiently as possible. 

The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the MICT Office of the Prosecutor have intensive cooperation with respect to the activities of the war crimes cases prosecution and those related to the legacy of the International Tribunals, in view of the fact that the Residual Mechanism will continue to work after the completion of the Tribunal’s mandate.
