  • PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH WELCOMES THE SUCCESSFUL ARREST OPERATION OF SEVEN PERSONS, SUSPECTED OF WAR CRIMES COMMITTED IN SREBRENICA, CARRIED OUT BY COLLEAGUES FROM SERBIA.

Cooperation resulted with colleagues in Serbia successfully identifying and locating the perpetrators of war crimes and arresting a total of seven suspects early this morning in several cities across Serbia.

During the course of these activities Chief Prosecutors Salihović and Vukčević were in constant contact and coordination.

The persons arrested are under investigation and are suspected of directly participating in the killings of at least 1.000 captured Bosniak men and boys on the site of the Kravica Farming Cooperative in July 1995 in their capacity as members of the Jahorina Training Center of the Special Police Brigade within the RS MoI.

Several persons suspected of this crime were previously prosecuted by the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and there are still ongoing investigations against some other persons.

Within the scope of cooperation and assistance to the colleagues from Serbia the representatives of the families of the war crimes victims,  acting in their capacity as injured parties, gave their consent to the Serbian judiciary to prosecute the suspects, which is a clear sign of trust and cooperation.

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH fully supports its Serbian colleagues in the prosecution of this case and congratulates the Office of the War Crimes Prosecutor and Police on a successful and professionally executed arrest operation of the suspects in Serbia.

The cooperation between the two prosecutor’s offices continues in the aim of prosecution of other perpetrators of this and other war crimes, which demands cooperation of the two prosecutor’s offices for successful detection and prosecution of the perpetrators.
