MOTION FOR REMAND IN CUSTODY FILED FOR HASAN IĆANOVIĆ (1965)
29.08.2014. 15:08A Prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes within the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH filed a motion for remand in custody of Ićanović Hasan, born on September 16, 1965 in Bužim, a citizen of BiH and the Republic of Croatia, who is suspected of having committed War Crimes against Prisoners of War under Article 175 of the CC BiH.
Following the arrest the suspect was handed over to the Assigned Prosecutor who questioned him as a suspect and then filed a motion to the Court of BiH for a remand in custody in duration of one month pursuant to the grounds stipulated in Article 132, Paragraph 1, Subparagraph a) of the Criminal Procedure Code of BiH.
The remand in custody was requested for the suspect due to risk of flight.
Ićanović Hasan, who was a member of the of the 5th Corps of the Army of Republic of BiH, is suspected of having committed crimes against members of the National Defense of the Autonomous Province of Western Bosnia in Velika Kladuša in 1994, by killing two prisoners of war.
Motion for remand in custody has been submitted to the Court of BiH.
