TWO MORE PERSONS DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY IN OPERATION „GOLD“
05.06.2014. 15:10By order of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH two more persons were deprived of liberty within the scope of the case of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH focusing on investigation of corruption offenses, in which some of the suspects were customs officers of ITA BiH.
This concerns persons suspected of giving bribes to customs officers during import of certain goods in order to allow for unlawful import of goods with much lower duties than those required by law.
The suspected persons were engaged in import of textiles and specialized catering equipment.
One of the suspects is an employee of an airline company which has its premises at Sarajevo Airport.
During the questioning the suspects have admitted their involvement in commission of the criminal offenses of Smuggling of Goods and Giving Gifts and other Forms of Benefits.
The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH continues its investigation into this matter with the aim of indicting a number of persons for corruption offenses.
