INDICTMENT ISSUED AGAINST RATKO VASIĆ (1983) FOR COUNTERFEITING OF MONEY
28.05.2013. 15:10Prosecutor of the Department III within the Prosecutor's Office of BiH has issued an Indictment against:
- Ratko Vasić, born on 27 February 1983 in Sarajevo, where he also resides, citizen of BiH.
On 15 August 2012, the accused Ratko Vasić kept in his passenger’s vehicle parked in Istočno Sarajevo /East Sarajevo/, in his purse, fifteen 100 KM banknotes for which he knew that they were counterfeit, and failed to report it to the competent authority.
As alleged in the Indictment, these banknotes were found during the search conducted by authorized officials of the Public Security Center in Istočno Sarajevo /East Sarajevo/.
The accused Ratko Vasić knew that the counterfeit money was made and failed to report it, whereby he committed the criminal offense of Counterfeiting of Money, as referred to in Article 205, paragraph 4, of the Criminal Code of BiH.
The Indictment has been forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
