MOTION FOR CUSTODY AND IMPOSURE OF PROHIBITING MEASURES FOR PERSONS DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY IN THE REGIONAL OPERATION CODENAMED

The Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption within the Prosecutor's Office of BiH filed a motion to the Court of BiH for remand in custody and imposure of prohibiting measured on several suspects who were detained on April 12, 2013 in the regional police operation "šetač" /walker/, conducted in several towns in Bosnia and Herzegovina, during the course of which one person was also deprived of liberty in the Republic of Serbia.

These arrests were carried out by authorized officers of SIPA and RS MoI. This operation is the result of joint work of prosecutors and police in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia and Montenegro, and coordinated investigation, which lasted about half a year.

After questioning the suspects, the Assigned Prosecutor filed a motion for remand in custody and imposure of prohibiting measures to the Court of BiH for several persons.

Custody motion was filed for the following persons:

1.   A.I. (1985) from Bileća, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina;

2.   Z. T. (1981) from Trebinje, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina;

3.   A. A. (1984) from Goražde, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia;

4.   B. I. (1959) from Bileća, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina;

5.   V. I. (1965) from Bileća, citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina;

6.   Z. P. (1991) from Čapljina, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina;

7.   N. P. (1964) from Ljubuško, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia;

8.   M. T. (1986) from Čitluk, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia;

9.   I. M. (1982) from Trebinje, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina;

10.   D.P. (1987) from Ljubuško, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina;

11.   B. B. (1965) from Banja Luka, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina;

12.   N. T. (1975) from Bileća, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina;

13.   V. G. (1981) from Bileća, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina;

14.   M.M. (1982) from Bileća, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina;

15.   D.B. (1970) from Stolac, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Croatia.

Imposure of prohibiting measures is sought for the suspect A. Š. (1986) from Bileća, a citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Remand in custody was requested on grounds stipulated under Article 132, Paragraph 1, Subparagraphs a), b) and c) of the CPC BiH, due to risk of absconding, as well due to the fact that there is a risk that, if released, the suspect could repeat the criminal offense and influence witnesses or accomplices and interfere with the investigation.

These suspects are under investigation by the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and are suspected of committing the criminal offense of Organized Crime under Article 250 of the CC BiH and the criminal offense of Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs under Article 195 of the Criminal Code of BiH.

Motion for remand in custody and imposure of prohibiting measures was filed with the Court of BiH, and the Prosecutor's Office continues the investigation aiming to proceed with the indictment in this case.
