THREE ACCUSED PERSONS CONCLUDED PLEA AGREEMENTS

Three persons accused of Illicit trafficking in Narcotic Drugs concluded agreements on admission of guilt.

The proposed imprisonment sentences for the accused persons range from one (1) to three (3) years.

The following accused persons entered into plea agreements with the Prosecutor of the BiH Prosecutor's Office:

  1. Hamdija MURIĆ, born on May 24, 1976 in Kosovska Mitrovica, permanently residing in Rožaje - Republic of Montenegro, citizen of the Republic of Montenegro, accused of the criminal offence of Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs under Article 195, Paragraph 2, in conjunction with Paragraph 1 of the CC BiH. The prosecutor proposed that the accused Hamdija MURIĆ be rendered an imprisonment sentence in the duration of three (3) years by the Court of BiH.
  2. Asmir KURPEJOVIĆ, born on July 21, 1975 in Rožaje - Republic of Montenegro where he resides, citizen of the Republic of Montenegro, accused of the criminal offence of Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs under Article 195, Paragraph 2, in conjunction with Paragraph 1 of the CC BiH. The prosecutor proposed that the accused Asmir KURPEJOVIĆ be rendered an imprisonment sentence in the duration of one (1) year by the Court of BiH.
  3. Ferdo ŠIMIĆ, born on May 24, 1971 in Tomislavgrad municipality where he resides, citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Republic of Croatia. The prosecutor proposed that the accused Ferdo ŠIMIĆ be rendered an imprisonment sentence in the duration of one (1) year by the Court of BiH

All of the accused admitted committing the criminal offenses listed in the indictment of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH issued on May 28, 2012.

The proposed sentences are in line with the roles of the accused in commission of the crimes.

By virtue of the plea agreements the accused have pledged to testify before the Court of BiH when summoned by the Court of BiH.

With these agreements the accused confirm that they are aware of the content of the indictment issued by the Prosecutor's Office of BiH on May 28, 2012. They also confirm that the plea statements were given voluntarily, knowingly and with full understanding and undertake to reimburse the costs of the criminal proceedings in the amount that may eventually be determined by the Court of BiH.

Pursuant to this agreement the accused waived their rights to a trial and appeal to the criminal sanction that shall be rendered to them by the Court of BiH.

The agreements were submitted to the Court of BiH.

This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
