TWO PERSONS SUSPECTED WITH THE CRIMINAL OFFENSE OF GENOCIDE WERE DEPRIVED OF LIBERTY
22.06.2012. 12:48- Ostoja STANIŠIĆ, born on December 2, 1951 in Fojnica, and
- Marko MILOŠEVIĆ, born on March 30, 1964 in Lupoglav - Kladanj municipality.
Along with the aforementioned arrests searches are being conducted at four locations, two premises are being searched in village Petkovci and two in the city of Zvornik under the supervision of the Prosecutor's Office of BiH.
The suspects : Ostoja STANIŠIĆ - former commander of the 6th Battalion of the Zvornik Brigade of the VRS and Marko MILOŠEVIĆ - former deputy commander of the 6th Battalion of the Zvornik Brigade of the VRS are under investigation by the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and are suspected to have committed the criminal offense of Genocide under Article 171 of the CC BiH.
They are suspected of having committed war crimes at the site of a damn in Petkovci at the location of Đulići in the municipality of Zvornik, where in the month of July 1995 about 1000 Bosniak men and boys from Srebrenica were shoot and killed.
The suspects shall, within the legal deadline, be handed over to the Assigned Prosecutor who shall question them and then decide whether to file a motion for custody or not.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
