President of the HJPC BiH Sanin Bogunić emphasized that the goal of today’s meeting was to improve institutional cooperation on important issues and to establish open communication on the challenges that the aforementioned judicial institutions face in their work.

Members of the Presidency highlighted their full support for the work of the Court of BiH and the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, as well as the importance of dialogue and communication between all three judicial institutions.

The topics of the discussion were efficiency in prosecution of organized crime, corruption and war crimes. Meeting participants have also briefly addressed cases concerning the implementation of Decisions of the Constitutional Court of BiH and cases related to hate speech. Another focus of the discussion was on the selection and appointment of the highest quality candidates to the Court of BiH and the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, bearing in mind the importance of the cases prosecuted before them and the attention that the entire Bosnia and Herzegovina public has placed on the work of these institutions.

The meeting ended with a discussion on the draft Law on Amendments to the Law on the HJPC of BiH and the Law on Courts at the Level of BiH, and with a mutual agreement to continue the open dialogue between the HJPC of BiH, the Court of BiH and the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH on all issues in the future.
