INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY
13.01.2025. 12:19The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH issued an indictment against the following persons:
- Milan Jevtić*, born in 1961 in Vlasenica,
- Rajko Čalmić*, born in 1952 in Milići,
- Ostoja Perišić*, born in 1958 in Vlasenica,
- Dejan Milanović*, born in 1946 in Milići.
The accused are charged with having participated, in their capacity as battalion commanders and members of the Milići Light Infantry Brigade of the VRS, in the capture and execution of a group of 31 Bosniak men and boys, who were shot at the Jasikovača site after the fall of the UN safe area of Srebrenica in July 1995. The accused Perišić is also charged with the individual executions of the survivors, and the accused Jevtić and Milanović with the personal removal and murder of one prisoner each.
The accused are charged with the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity under Article 172 of the Criminal Code of BiH.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
