BiH PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE PARTICIPATES IN EUROPOL’S INTERNATIONAL OPERATION ‘GLOBAL CHAIN’
25.06.2024. 11:59
The Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, based on an invitation from EUROPOL, formed a case and determined that, in respect of the operation, a prosecutor from the Section for Combating Human Trafficking and Human Smuggling should manage and coordinate activities of police agencies.
During the operation under the auspices of EUROPOL, FRONTEX and INTERPOL, the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH coordinated the activities of the Republika Srpska Ministry of Internal Affairs - Directorate for Organised and Serious Crime in documenting the criminal offence of international solicitation to prostitution, during which, within the framework of the aforementioned international operation, two persons - female foreign nationals were located in the area of the city of Banja Luka on 6 June 2024 because of the suspicion that they were the victims of international procurement for the purpose of sexual exploitation.
As a reminder, this is a continuation of the activities of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office and the RS Ministry of Internal Affairs - Directorate for Organised and Serious Crime from April this year, when two female foreign nationals were found and two suspects deprived of their liberty because of the suspicion that they were members of a group for international solicitation to prostitution.
