CHIEF PROSECUTOR MET WITH DIRECTOR OF BIH BORDER POLICE
26.06.2023. 12:39The leaders of the two institutions discussed joint activities and efforts to strengthen the rule of law, as well as the prosecution of perpetrators of the criminal offences that fall within the jurisdiction of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and the Border Police.
The two key topics of the meeting related to the handling of cases of organised crime and corruption with evidence obtained from the “Sky” and “Anom” applications, as well as the fight against organised crime related to international human trafficking and people smuggling, within the framework of the Task Force for Fight against Trafficking in Human Beings and Organised Illegal Immigration, which is chaired by the Chief Prosecutor and in which representatives from the BiH Border Police are also active.
It was agreed at the meeting to continue intensive cooperation in the fight against all forms of crime and strengthening the rule of law.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
