INDICTMENT ISSUED AGAINST TWO PERSONS ACCUSED OF THE CRIMINAL OFFENSE OF ELECTORAL FRAUD

 A Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH issued an indictment against Suvada Halilović, born in 1954 in Bosanski Novi, a citizen of BiH, and Emira Vakufac, born in 1970 in Bosanski Novi, a citizen of BiH.
  • INDICTMENT ISSUED AGAINST TWO PERSONS ACCUSED OF THE CRIMINAL OFFENSE OF ELECTORAL FRAUD

 The accused are charged with having, at the time the General Elections in BiH were taking place on 2 October this year, or to be exact on 1 and 2 October 2022 in Hozići, - Novi Grad municipality, in the premises of the Hozići community center where polling station number 007B051 was located, Suvada Halilović in her capacity of president of the Polling Committee and Emira Vakufac in her capacity as a member, acted contrary to the provisions of the Election Law in BiH and the provisions of the Rulebook on Conducting Elections in BiH dated 4 May 2022.. They are charged with failure to fulfil the duties entrusted to them by the applicable regulations during the election process, and with having according to their previous agreement and before the election process commenced i.e. in the evening of 1 October 2022, filled in 400 ballots without authorization. Of the stated number, 100 ballots were illegally filled for "Level 703" - Presidency of BiH - Serb member, then 100 ballots for "Level 521" - House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, as well as 100 ballots for "Level 301" - National Assembly of Republika Srpska.

Furthermore, 49 ballots for "Level 600" - president and vice president of Republika Srpska, were illegally filled in and certified, then another 51 ballots for "Level 600" - president and vice president of Republika Srpska. The aforementioned criminal offense was committed in order to achieve more successful results in the elections for certain registered candidates whose names were circled on the seized ballots.

 

In the activities of the police agencies, the illegally filled ballots, the Minutes of the work of the polling committee as well as the stamp of the polling station with the Cyrillic and Latin inscription "Novi Grad 007B051" were seized at the scene on election day 2 October 2022 while a part of the ballot was later found and seized, and the polling station number 007B051 Hozići was not even opened on that day.

 

The accused are charged with having, during the process of the General Elections in BiH for 2022, in their capacity as members of the Polling Committee, attempted to falsify the results of the election by adding votes, namely by filling in 400 ballots in advance, thereby committing the criminal offense - Electoral Fraud under Article 154 of the CC BiH .

 

The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
