JOINT OPERATION DIRECTED TOWARDS SEVERAL PERSONS SUSPECTED OF ILLICIT INTERNATIONAL TRAFFICKING IN NARCOTIC DRUGS CARRIED OUT PURSUANT TO THE ORDER OF THE BIH PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE
13.12.2022. 11:20 Acting under the supervision of a Prosecutor from the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH and by order of the Court of BiH, police officers of the Directorate for Organized and Serious Crime of the RS MoI , in cooperation with Sarajevo Canton MoI, are conducting a joint operation codenamed "Hornet" in the area of Sarajevo and Foča, aimed at combating organized crime linked with illicit international trafficking in narcotic drugs.
Several suspects have been deprived of liberty, and are suspected of having acted as an organized criminal group procuring large quantities of the narcotic drug "marijuana" from the territory of the Republic of Montenegro, organizing its transfer, hiding and smuggling in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and subsequently its distribution and sale in the wider area of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Searches of buildings and vehicles used by the mentioned persons are underway.The suspects are under investigation due to the existence of grounds for suspicion that they have committed criminal offense of Organized Crime in conjunction with the criminal offense of Illicit Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs under the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
These activities are a continuation of the operations in the cases with evidence from the decrypted Sky and Anom applications.
The suspects will be questioned within the legal term, after which the assigned prosecutor will make a decision on further activities in the case.
