US AMBASSADOR VISITED THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BOSNIA AND HERZEGOVINA
15.11.2022. 08:32The meeting parties discussed activities in the process of strengthening the rule of law in Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as the processing of cases under the jurisdiction of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office, which includes cases of organized crime, international and cross-border crime, corruption, terrorism, war crimes, as well as illegalities related to electoral process and other criminal offenses.
Chief Prosecutor Kajganić informed Ambassador Murphy about the work and activities of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, the planned steps to strengthen the rule of law and security in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and expressed his gratitude for the support that the United States provides in the work of law enforcement institutions, since the very establishment of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH , in 2003, until today. Ambassador Murphy emphasized the importance of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as part of the judicial community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, from which the public and citizens expect the establishment of the rule of law, and expressed support for the efforts in the prosecution of all illegalities that threaten the safety of citizens, including cases of organized international crime, cases with Sky and Anom applications, as well as high and medium level corruption cases. At the meeting, it was agreed that partnership and cooperation in strengthening the rule of law will continue in the future.This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
