06.09.2022. 15:59
After questioning the suspects, the Assigned Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina submitted to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina a motion to order remand in custody for the suspect Dejan Jurišić (1983), a police officer employed in the Prijedor Police Department, who was deprived of liberty in an operation of the RS MoI, in the area of Prijedor.

The remand in custody was requested due to risk that the suspect could obstruct the investigation, conceal evidence and exert influence on witnesses or accomplices while remaining free.

The aforementioned suspect is under investigation due to the existence of a grounded suspicion that he committed the criminal offense of Organized Crime under Article 250 of the BiH CC, in conjunction with the criminal offense of Extortion under Article 232 and the criminal offense of Abuse of Office or Official Authority under Article 315 of the RS CC.

As part of the investigative activities, information and evidence was collected that during 2021, the suspect as an authorized person of the RS MoI, had information that the aggravated murder of the Head of the Prijedor Criminal Investigation Department - Radenko Bašić, was being prepared, as well as about the persons preparing the murder, that he did not pass on such information to the competent authorities, and that he, instead of protecting citizens, maintained contacts with criminal persons and helped extort money from citizens in the area of Prijedor.

The motion to order remand in custody was sent to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The other two suspects deprived of liberty in the same operation gave detailed statements, evidence was collected and documented, hence remand in custody was not requested for them.
