INDICTMENT ISSUED AGAINST NAJDAN MLAĐENOVIĆ AND SAVO ŽIVKOVIĆ

The Prosecutor's Office of BiH issued an indictment against the following persons:
-        Najdan MLAĐENOVIĆ, born on March 11, 1961 in Bratunac, a citizen of BiH, and
-        Savo ŽIVKOVIĆ, born on March 25, 1960 in Bratunac, a citizen of BiH.

The accused are charged to have, in May 1992, committed the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity, under Article 172 of the Criminal Code of BiH, against non-Serbs in the villages and Hranča and Glogova in the Municipality of Bratunac.

The accused persons: MLAĐENOVIĆ and ŽIVKOVIĆ are charged to have, as members of the Bratunac TD, participated in the commission of crimes against non-Serbs in the villages Hranča and Glogova during which dozens of civilians were killed and their property looted and burned.

The accused are charged to have initiated, ordered, committed, incited and aided in the commission of killings, forced disappearances, deportation or forcible transfer of population, the expulsion of non-Serb civilian population on national, ethnic and religious grounds and other inhumane acts of a similar nature that were committed with the intent to cause great suffering or serious physical or mental injuries or impairment of health by which they have committed the criminal offense of Crimes against Humanity under Article 172 of the CC BiH

The accused persons are remanded in custody.

The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.

This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
