EXHUMATION CARRIED OUT IN THE AREA OF BRATUNAC MUNICIPALITY
30.03.2012. 15:04Following the recovery the remains were transported to the Identification Centre in Tuzla for further forensic processing and DNA analysis aiming to establish the identity.
The exhumation process was supervised by an investigator of the Special Department for War Crimes within the Prosecutor's Office of BiH and attended by representatives of the BiH Institute for Missing Persons, a doctor working in the field of forensic medicine – an expert pathologist, workers of the Commemorative Centre Tuzla with machines as well as PS Bratunac Police Officers.
The Prosecutor's Office of BiH, along with other law enforcement agencies and institutions involved in the process of tracing the missing persons in BiH and their identification, continues its activities in the process of exhumation of the remains of war crimes victims in all parts of BiH.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
