In the morning hours police officers of the Directorate for Organized and Serious Crime of the Ministry of Interior of the RS, in cooperation with the Ministry of Interior of Sarajevo Canton, handed over to the Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption five suspects deprived of liberty within operation "Hornet", directed at suppression of organized crime linked with illicit international trafficking of narcotic drugs.

In the case of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office, the accused Dario Čukić, aka "Čuka", born in 1994 in Tuzla, pleaded guilty to the criminal offense of Counterfeiting of Money under Article 205 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Acting within a 24-hour duty, the on-call prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH coordinated the activities of the officials of the Indirect Taxation Administration (ITA) of BiH, within which a quantity of 51,500 packs of cigarettes, undeclared and unmarked with excise stamps in accordance with the law, was seized. Its market value is estimated at about BAM 309,000.

The case included evidence from the Sky and Anom applications, and a total of eight persons were charged with organized crime related to several serious criminal offenses committed in the period from 2020 to 2022, including the murder of the Head of the Prijedor Criminal Investigation Department, Radenko Bašić.
