INDICTMENT ISSUED AGAINST THREE PERSONS FOR WAR CRIMES COMMITTED IN SREBRENIK

A Prosecutor of the Special Department for War Crimes issued an indictment against three individuals charging them with War Crimes against Civilians, committed against ethnic Serb victims in the area Srebrenik in 1992.

These are criminal offenses in which the perpetrators exploited the situation caused by natural disasters and floods in BiH in order to falsely indicate that the goods of company OBI in Banja Luka and Mostar were destroyed in the floods thus evading payment of VAT tax liabilities in the amount of approximately BAM 1.5 million.

The Chief Prosecutor of  the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina - Goran Salihović and his associates met with the representatives of the U.S. Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina: Mr. Robert Thomson, resident legal advisor at the U.S. Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Mr. Ante Miliša, assistant in the Political Department and discussed the possibilities and modalities of activities that  judicial and law enforcement agencies can undertake in Bosnia and Herzegovina in order to combat human trafficking more effectively and to protect victims of such criminal offenses.
