The sentence of imprisonment for a term of one (1) year has been proposed for each of the accused persons, along with the confiscation of unlawfully acquired material gain and the obligation to testify against other accused persons in the case codenamed Bosporus and, additionally, a fine has been proposed for one of the accused persons.

The accused Shirwan Naseh Ismail, born in 1969 in Sarbier in Irak, a citizen of the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Irak, who is currently in custody, has signed a Plea Agreement in the presence of his attorney, admitting his guilt for the commission of the criminal offence of Smuggling of Persons, as referred to in Article 189 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina in conjunction with Article 26 of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

From 20 to 22 May, high-level delegations from the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Prosecutor’s Office of the Federation of BiH, the Prosecutor’s Office of Brčko District, the Cantonal Prosecutor’s Office of Una-Sana Canton, the State Attorney’s Office and specialized county prosecutor’s offices of Croatia, the Special Prosecutor’s Office of Montenegro, the War Crimes Prosecutor’s Office of Serbia and the UN Mechanism Office of the Prosecutor participated in the Regional Conference of War Crimes Prosecutors, held in Belgrade, Serbia, convened by the War Crimes Prosecutor’s Office of Serbia and UNDP in partnership with the United Kingdom and Italy.

The accused is charged with the war crime committed in villages of Alići and Ekići, where twenty-seven (27) Bosniak civilians were killed on 22 June 1992.

Following the questioning of the suspect, Prosecutor of the Special Department for Organized Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH filed a motion for remand in custody to the Court of BiH for the suspect Mehmet Tink (1956), a citizen of the Republic of Turkey.

On 23 May at around 15:25 hours, a call was made to the official telephone number of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina from the telephone number from the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany, by an unknown male person who made threats to throw a bomb and kill everyone at the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the BiH HJPC and to attack the Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ms. Gordana Tadić.
