INDICTMENT ISSUED FOR CRIMINAL OFFENCE OF CORRUPTION

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH filed an
indictment against Began Muhić, born in 1970 in Živinice, the former Consul
General of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the FR Germany (City of Stuttgart), for
the criminal offence of fraud in office under Article 222 (3) of the Criminal
Code of BiH, as read with paragraph 1 thereof, in conjunction with Article 54 of
the same Code.
The charges against the defendant are that in the period between 2019 and 2023, he, as an authorised officer in the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a view to acquiring unlawful property gain, provided false information about his presence at work and regular work at the Consular Office while being in BiH, where he was staying without the necessary consent of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH to leave the host country. He is accused of having misled the persons authorised for payments by submitting and approving false calculations, in which way he, through unlawful payments of salaries, other benefits and unlawful payment of per diems, acquired unlawful property gain totalling BAM 56,062.63.
