OVERVIEW OF THE MOST IMPORTANT ACTIVITIES FOR THE WEEK BETWEEN 5 AUGUST AND 9 AUGUST 2024

Below is an overview of the most important activities for the week between 5 August and 9 August 2024. 

INDICTMENT CONFIRMED IN ZORAN KALINIĆ* ET AL. CASE

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH has been informed that its indictment in the Zoran Kalinić et al. case has been confirmed. The indictment charges a total of 15 individuals and 6 legal entities (private higher education institutions) that by the activities described in the indictment they committed the criminal offences of conspiracy to perpetrate criminal offences, abuse of office or authority, illicit trade, forgery of official documents and other related criminal offences.

EXTENSION OF CUSTODY FOR TWO SUSPECTS IN ZORAN GALIĆ* ET AL. CASE PROPOSED

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH submitted to the Court of BiH a motion to extend the custody measure by two months for the suspects Blagoje Milović (1981) and Ivica Bago (1979), for the reasons described in Article 132 (1) (a) and (b) of the Criminal Procedure Code of BiH.

The suspects are charged with the criminal offences of Organised crime under Article 250 of the Criminal Code of BiH (CC BiH), Abuse of office or authority under Article 220 of the CC BiH, Smuggling under Article 214 of the CC BiH, Breach of secrecy of proceedings under Article 237 of the CC BiH, Illicit trade in excise goods under Article 210a of the CC BiH and the Giving of gifts and other forms of benefit under Article 218 of the CC BiH.

EXTENSION OF CUSTODY FOR SUSPECT GOJKO OSTOJIĆ* PROPOSED

The Prosecutor’s Office of BiH sent a proposal that the custody measure against the suspect Gojko Ostojić, born in 1977 in Nikšić, who was extradited to Bosnia and Herzegovina from the Czech Republic, be extended by another two months.

The custody measure was proposed for the reasons set out in Article 132 (1) (a) of the Criminal Procedure Code of BiH.

The suspect is under investigation in the ‘Bojan Cvijetić et al.’ case because of the existence of well-founded suspicion that he committed the criminal offence of Organized crime under Article 250 (2) of the Criminal Code of BiH, in connjunction with the criminal offence of Illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs under Article 195 (1) of the CC BiH.

EXHUMATION CARRIED OUT IN ILIJAŠ AREA

The exhumation and search for the remains of several people was carried out at Žerovanje site near Ilijaš. No remains were found at the said site.

EXHUMATION CARRIED OUT IN USTIKOLINA AREA

The exhumation was carried out in the area of Ustikolina, on the left bank of the Drina river. The remains of victims from the past war have not been found.
