REPRESENTATIVES OF THE FRENCH MINISTRY OF INTERIOR (DIRECTORATE FOR INTERNATIONAL SECURITY COOPERATION - DCIS AND OFFICE FOR THE FIGHT AGAINST NARCOTICS - OFAST) VISIT THE PROSECUTOR’S OFFICE OF BIH.
04.06.2024. 15:49OFAST is an institution that operates on the territory of France. It was founded and became operational in 2020, in order to strengthen capacities in the fight against drug trafficking.
The meeting parties discussed the work and activities of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of France in the fight against international drug trafficking, the cooperation of law enforcement agencies and institutions of the two countries, as well as cooperation in the processing of cases with evidence from SKY and Anom applications, because the institutions of the Republic of France are among the main partners of law enforcement agencies in Bosnia and Herzegovina in this area.
The representatives of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office informed their colleagues from France that in the past few years, the prosecutor’s office has issued indictments against dozens of people for the criminal offense of illicit trafficking in narcotic drugs, among which a large number of cases related specifically to international trafficking of large quantities of narcotics. In the cases with evidence from the SKY and Anom applications, a large part of the indictments issued so far relates to criminal offenses of organized crime and money laundering, which are linked with international drug trafficking.The meeting was also attended by the Police Attaché of France in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Philippe Gangloff.
At the meeting, it was agreed that good and efficient cooperation between the BiH Prosecutor’s Office and partner institutions and agencies will continue in the future.
