MORTAL REMAINS OF TWO PERSONS EXHUMED IN THE AREA OF BROD

According to the collected information and data, these were probably the mortal remains of the male person of Croatian ethnicity who went missing in 1993 that were at that site. The remains of a female person were also found at the exhumation site.
The samples taken will be sent for DNA analysis, in order to determine the identity of the persons to whom the mortal remains belong.
The exhumation was attended by a forensic pathologist, representatives of the Institute for Missing Persons (INO) of BiH, the International Commission for the Search of Missing Persons - ICMP in BiH, workers of the Tuzla Commemorative Centre where DNA samples will be sent for analysis, as well as police officers of the Republika Srpska Ministry of the Interior, Police Station Brod, who secured the site and provided criminal-technical support.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
