INDICTMENT ISSUED AGAINST ARMIN BUREIĆ FOR SMUGGLING FOREIGN CITIZENS
26.04.2024. 13:20- ARMIN BUREIĆ, born in 2003 in Zenica, with previous convictions, citizen of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The accused is charged with having, for an agreed sum of money on July 20 of last year, enabled smuggled persons to illegally stay in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina by receiving and transporting them. The aforementioned smuggled persons were previously illegally transported across the border line from the Republic of Montenegro to Bosnia and Herzegovina by a person known to them.
After handover and during the illegal transit of smuggled persons through the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the accused was discovered and stopped by police officers in Prača- Pale municipality, who found four smuggled persons, citizens of Pakistan and Bangladesh.
The accused is charged with having knowingly acted contrary to Article 6 of the Protocol against Smuggling of Migrants by Land, Sea and Air, Article 7 of the Law on Border Control and Article 8 of the Law on Foreigners, aware that the smuggled persons do not possess valid travel documents and do not meet the criteria for legal stay in the territory of Bosnia and Herzegovina; thus with the intention of obtaining property gain through transportation he facilitated the stay of smuggled persons in Bosnia and Herzegovina, thereby committing the criminal offense of Smuggling of Persons under Article 189, Paragraph 2, of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for confirmation.
