INDICTMENT FILED AGAINST AN ITALIAN CITIZEN FOR ATTACKING A POLICE OFFICER OF THE BIH BORDER POLICE

- Celestino Froner, born in 1973 in Trento, Italy, citizen of the Republic of Italy, who is remanded in custody.
The charges against the defendant are that he, while operating his motor vehicle, attempted to avoid border control at the border crossing point Izačić on 5 February this year, some time after midnight, which was performed by authorised officers of the Border Police of BiH - Border Police Unit Izačić, and that on that occasion he attacked and inflicted physical injuries on one of the police officers of the BiH Border Police, in the area of his hand, after which he was deprived of his liberty.
The injured police officer was provided with medical assistance in the hospital in Bihać.
The defendant is charged with having physically injured an officer of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, that is, a border police officer who was on his duty while performing his tasks concerning the security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, whereby he committed the criminal offence – Attack against official person on tasks of security, detection and apprehension of perpetrators of criminal offences in violation of Article 241b of the Criminal Code of BiH.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of BiH for confirmation.
