INDICTMENT FILED AGAINST A COMMANDER OF THE BIH BORDER POLICE FOR A CRIMINAL OFFENCE OF CORRUPTION

- Ognjen Stupar, born in 1979 in Sanski Most, employed as a commander of the BiH Border Police unit, Banja Luka airport, citizen of BiH and Republic of Serbia.
The allegations against the defendant are that in the period between 1 February 2022 and 31 August 2023, he, aware of his illegal actions and in order to acquire unlawful property gain, misled official persons in the BiH Border Police by submitting untrue information and a fictitious contract, and in this way unlawfully obtained accommodation and family separation allowances in the amount of BAM 10,652.26, for which he damaged the BiH budget.
The defendant is charged with having misled an official person of the Border Police of BiH to render an unlawful disbursement, whereby he committed the criminal offence of Fraud in offcie set out in Article 222 (2) of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The indictment was forwarded to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which confirmed it.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
