27.11.2023. 15:41
1. Idrizović Mevljudin, born in 1956 in Peja, citizen of Serbia and BiH
2. Boban Janković, born in 1971 in Shkodër, Albania, citizen of Albania, residing in Montenegro.
The suspects were apprehended in a coordinated operation carried out by the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, the State Investigation and Protection Agency - SIPA, in cooperation with the Intelligence-Security Agency (OSA) of BiH.
During the apprehension, the narcotic drug marijuana, in the amount of about 16 kilograms, was found and seized from the suspects, as well as a large amount of money in different currencies.
As part of the operation codenamed “Buna”, evidence was collected that the suspects took part in the organised smuggling of narcotic drugs from the territory of Montenegro to Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The detention motion was proposed, among other things, for the reasons described in Article 132 (1) (a) and b) due to the risk of flight, as well as the risk that by remaining at liberty they could hinder the investigation, conceal evidence, and exert influence on witnesses or accomplices.
The motion for ordering detention was sent to the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
This announcement does not prejudice the outcome of the criminal proceedings and does not violate the principle of the presumption of innocence. A person shall be considered innocent of a crime until guilt has been established by a final verdict (Article 3, paragraph 1 of the CPC BiH).
